Large scale circuit, with multiple metabolic “HIIT stops” that used all available elements of the cityscape?
YES.
Check out this quick drill video shot LIVE during a PURSUIT class in NYC.
NO PARK?
NO PERMIT?
NO GRASS?
….. No Problem! (< <I actually invented this training method, PURSUIT, because my boot camp got booted out of the park because we didn’t have a permit! )
This is a large scale circuit done in the iconic city hall area of NYC (the steps where they shoot Law & Order) The idea is to get your group out of the confines of the the park, and use the city around you. Here’s the drill:
1. HIIT STOP I: STEPS
- BOX JUMPS up the steps
- BEAR CRAWL down
- x2
2. RUN 50 Yards to..
3. HIIT STOP II: FOUNTAIN
4. RUN 50 Yards back to start (STEPS)
5. Repeat the sequence 2 more rounds
(Increase pushups by 5 each round)
6. END: RAILING
After 3 full rounds, each athlete HOLDs the inverted plank on a railing.
This metabolic drill hits the 3 A’s of PURSUIT training methodology:
Anaerobic (box jumps, bear crawls)
Aerobic (running back and forth)
Skill Attainment (inverted planks)
For maximum benefit, it’s important to utilize the Obstacles that you have around you not just in the park, but out in the city as well! Think: hills, stairs, benches, lines on the ground, walls, curbs, scaffolding etc.
This training methodology is part of the bigger fitness system and certification called PURSUIT. Grab the entire turn-key business model and get CEC’s from NESTA, ON SALE – 30% off. Just use code “SUMMER”
